Private Cuba Tours: 8-Day Essential Cuba Tour
Enjoy Our Private Cuba Tours
This one-week private tour in Cuba is the perfect getaway for the adventurous traveller. You’ll travel around the island in a vintage American car, with your own private chauffeur. The best part is, you’ll have the chance change or create your own itinerary, so you won’t miss a thing!
The world is your oyster
The itinerary for this private Cuba tour outlined below is a sample to show what we have to offer. You’re also able to extend the tour to any of the locations or add a few more days in any place. So if you’re after more resort time with the 80km of pristine beaches in Varadero, or if you can’t wait to explore the tobacco-growing region of Vinales, we can arrange that too. Our private Cuba tours are designed to be completely flexible!
If you want to soak up the atmosphere in Cuba’s iconic Colonial city, Trinidad, we’d be happy to show you around. If you have more than week then you could also visit ‘the Oriente’ – the east of Cuba. For example, the lush green Baracoa or the second biggest city Santiago de Cuba. The options are as endless as your imagination, and we’ll be on hand throughout to help you make the most of your holiday in Cuba.
- What’s included
1. DAY of your private tour in Cuba = Arrival
After you touchdown at Havana airport, your Vamos Cuba guide will offer you a warm Cuban greeting and then take you to your casa particular, taking in some of the sights around Havana on the way. Your guide will run through your itinerary with you, and then leave you with some local insider tips so you can explore your neighbourhood.
2. DAY = Havana
After a delicious homemade breakfast prepared by your casa particular host, your guide will pick you up at your preferred time and take you to the city. You could spend a year in Havana and still not see everything, but we’re pretty confident we can tell you all about the iconic highlights and more! You’ll be free to head out and explore the city on your own with some helpful advice from your Vamos Cuba guide.
2 nights accommodation: Casa Particular Comfort in Havana
3.DAY = Havana to Cienfuegos
Breakfast will again be spent with your host family, and then you will leave Havana for Cienfuegos. On the way we will visit the Cienega de Zapata, an expansive national park found on the south coast of the island. The national park is home to the Taino Indian Village, which we will reach by motorboat. You will also have the chance to visit the Guama crocodile breeding farm – if you’re interested in seeing the 16 species of crocodile that call it home.
Entrance fees not included: est. $12 CUC
1 night Casa Particular Comfort in Cienfuegos
4.DAY = Cienfuegos to Trinidad
After breakfast, we’ll hit the road to Trinidad, but not without checking out some stunning sights along the way first. Where we stop is entirely up to you, but here we offer some suggestions…
Why not enjoy a moment of calm at the Laguna Guanaroca, home to the majestic pink flamingo? It's your private Cuba tour, so if it's wildlife you're after, we can help show you the best the island has to offer!
If it’s sand you’re after, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Playa Rancho Luna, a pristine beach with crystal-clear and warm waters. Its few minutes away from the laguna with flamencos and on the way to the next stop El Nicho.
Another great spot to visit is a trip to El Nicho waterfalls, an outstandingly beautiful area with lagoons and plenty of scenery to enjoy along the way. Dont forget to take your swimming suit with you.
The trip to El Nicho is about one hour from Playa Rancho Luna.
Entrance fees to all sites not included.
5. DAY = Trinidad & Around
Today you’ll have the chance to explore Trinidad, a little slice of Spanish Colonial life trapped in time. In 1988 it was made an UNESCO world heritage site, and you’ll soon see why! Get lost in the winding streets and feel your stress melt away as the friendly locals brighten up your visit.
We can tailor your visit to your personal interests, so make sure you let us know what you really want to see!
2 nights accommodation: Casa Particular Comfort in Trinidad
6. DAY: Trinidad to Viñales
After a traditional Trinidad breakfast, we’ll hit the road to Viñales, a small town in the Pinar del Río Province of Cuba. It is famous for its picturesque landscapes, as the whole town is surrounded by a low mountain range.
You will have the chance to visit local 'finca' (plantation) with explanation of tobacco growing. They will also demonstrate how to roll a cigar.
7.DAY: Viñales & around
Today, the world is your oyster once more. We would recommend a day trip to Cayo Jutías, a mere 60km from Trinidad, which should take no longer than 90 minutes.
Expect white sand, crystal-clear water, a soft sea breeze and total relaxation.
2 nights accommodation: Casa Particular Comfort in Vinales
8. DAY: Departure
Unless you have chosen to extend your holiday in Cuba with us, then we will return you to the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight. After this private Cuba tour you’ll leave with the heart full of great memories.
Many of our customers return year after year, so if you're interested in seeing more of what Cuba has to offer, why not book another private Cuba tour with Vamos Cuba!
Private Houses = Casas Particulares
Accommodation is provided at various Homestays along the route, this is so that you get to talk to real Cuban families and sample authentic Cuban food. You’ll pick up bits and pieces of local knowledge and history from your host families, which will help to make your trip more enjoyable.
Changing your accommodation to hotels is also possible on our private Cuba tours. Simply let us know during your enquiry.

Vamos Cuba gave us the very best experience that we’ve ever had with a travel company.
Just back from a wonderful three weeks in Cuba, organised by Veronika at Vamos Cuba. Her expert knowledge of the country, experience of Cuban life and patient advice helped us plan an unforgettable trip.
Yaremi, our host in Havana, is delightful. She gave us a unique insight into the city; history, culture, great restaurants… when our daughter arrived from South America she hung out with us, took us to some fascinating places, organising all our needs in Havana perfectly. Really happy memories!
Out of Havana we were driven by Maxy in his beloved ’52 Plymouth Cranbrook. He’s a fine young man with a great sense of humour, and like Yaremi, eager that we have a wonderful time. He may be one of the safest drivers we’ve ever come across. For a week we travelled to the Zapata Peninsula; Veronika and Maxy had organised bird-watching trips with conservation experts; Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Vinales. We stayed in casa particulars and experienced some amazing hospitality and comfort. The extensive breakfasts usually meant we didn’t need lunch. Some of the hosts offered an option of dinner as an alternative to restaurants, and these were all excellent.
We travelled independently for a short time at the end of the trip using the Viazul bus network. The ticketing system runs efficiently and the buses leave bang on time. Yaremi still kept track of where we were and if we needed anything she was only a txt away, and ensured that our driver in Havana, the wonderful Hugo, was always there to pick us up.
Cuba is a unique country; it has a constant salsa soundtrack, it is loud and frenetic, it has a rich history and culture, the people are amazing; warm and friendly. It is a safe place to travel, and there is so much more to it than you could ever imagine.
We’ve travelled all over the world and I would say that Vamos Cuba gave us the very best experience that we’ve ever had with a travel company. Thank you Veronika, Yaremi, Maxy and Hugo!
