8 Days Cycling Tour in West Cuba

Cycling tour in Cuba

Did you know a lot of Cubans use their bikes to get around? – It’s healthier, cheaper and it’s one of the best ways to see the real Cuba. The roads aren’t busy, traffic is slow in the country and travelling on two wheels is a great way to get around.

That’s why we’ve designed this Vamos Cuba cycling holiday so you get up close and personal with every aspect of Cuban life; from the old guy dancing in the street, to the brightly coloured American classic cars, the fascinating architecture and the stunning scenery.

You don’t need to be a professional rider either, we’ve tailored our holiday itinerary to suit anyone who enjoys cycling.

The cycling tour lasts 8 days and you will be accompanied by an experienced cyclist, who will be your guide and maintain your bike throughout the journey. The distance covered varies daily, but there are only two long days where you will cover 55 and 45 kilometres respectively. The other days you will ride a distance of between 20 and 30 kilometres.

Here at Vamos Cuba, we like to keep things simple, so our cycling groups are small – A maximum of 10 people and a minimum of 2.

You can also add more days either at the beginning or at the end of the tour. Just let us know your requirements and we will help you to create the perfect holiday in Cuba.

Cycling in Cuba

My wife and I are relevantly keen cyclists. We do not do great miles but could comfortably do four hours in the saddle at a leisurely pace. We wanted to organise a week of cycling in Cuba without getting involved in large groups with buses following you. Vamos Cuba were able to find a guide and organise us to stay in comfortable Casas for our five day trip. I have to say that the guide that was with us was first class. Conscientious, non imposing , polite and made the whole week a huge success. The bikes provided were better than I expected and well maintained. This style of cycling for a week enabled us to see and experience a Cuba that other tourists might not find.

Trying to organise something out of the ordinary can be frustrating in Cuba and I would I would highly recommend Vamos Cuba as a starting point if you have a similar challenge to fulfil.”
