Arrive in Havana. You’ll be picked up in style in a classic American car and taken to your accommodation in a ‘casa particular’ (a Cuban version of Bed & Breakfast). Depending on the time of your arrival, your host will meet you at your accommodation and discuss the details of your stay and the start of your Havana music tour.
5 days of classes start today
You will have your classes in the morning and free afternoons to explore the city.
You will have the weekend free of classes and you might wish to go to visit close town Vinales or spend a day on the beach close to Havana. Vamos Cuba host will be able to advise you on your options and help you buy bus ticket or book a day trip with a Cuban agency.
Day off from Classes
Today you’ll have a break from your classes and have the opportunity to relax and see more of the city.
In the afternoon, you can visit El Gran Palenque, which is home to the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba. There are rumba and Afro-Cuban dance performances on the patio every Saturday. Entrance fee: 5CUC
On Sunday you can go tosee live rumba dance and music in Callejón de Hamel(12pm -3pm, entrance free).
Its time to say good bye to Cuba. Most of the flights to Europe depart in the late afternoon so you will have time for last minute gift shopping.
According to your departure time you will be picked up at your Casa and taken to the airport.

Vamos Cuba offers 3 types of homestay accommodations:
Included as standard in all of our packages. This is the best way to get to know the locals and gain a real insight into the Cuban way of life. Your accommodation will be in a central and accessible location, you’ll have a good sized room, air conditioning, private bathroom. Your host will give you keys and you come and go as you please. You’ll also have access to a terrace or balcony. Your full privacy is guaranteed.
For those who want complete privacy; for an extra charge you can get all of the features of a Comfort Casa with the added benefit of a private entrance in the same house as the family, or a completely separate apartment. You’ll have a kitchen, private bathroom, separate living area, TV, fridge and phone.
If you want a luxury but still want an authentic Cuban experience away from the hotels, then the luxury Casa is for you. You’ll have a beautifully designed and spacious room, lounge, terrace and an impressive view of either the Malecon or the City. You’ll also have a TV, phone and safety deposit box.

Vamos Cuba Host
Vamos Cuba Host is there to make your holiday as comfortable as possible and give you the insight of real Cuba. We will take care of the practical organisation of your trip (offering the best advice on where to go in your free time, and the best places to eat, drink, and relax.) Your Vamos Cuba host in Havana is Alfredo CarmenateAlfredo will pick you up from the airport and will take you to your Casa. He is there for you to help with any problems you might have and give you advices for your free time. He will also show you around all the important places on your first day (Alternatively on second day if you arrive late in the evening)Please note that he is there also for other clients of Vamos Cuba and wont be able to spend your free time with you except the first (or second day )
Is the flight included in the trip?
We do not include the flight into our packages as our clients tend to travel from different countries. We are happy to provide you with information on flight options.
What happens when I arrive at the airport?
If your package includes transfer from the airport, you will be picked up there by our contact and accompanied to your place of stay.
Is Cuba safe country to visit?
Cuba is the safest country in Latin Amerina. Cuba has the lowest crime rate in the Western Hemisphere! You will be surprised by the visible police presense in Cuba. Of course as in any country be careful of you belongings!
How old do you have to be for a ¡Vamos*Cuba! courses?
We don’t have age limit, we have something for everyone. For example we recommend Danzon class for seniors or dance class for kids where they can learn how to move as lion, cat or tree in wind.
Which documents do I need for travelling to your destinations?
A Tourist card is normally issued for 30 days. If you want to stay for another month you need to extend your visa at immigration in Havana for extra charge. Its very easy and fast to obtain the tourist card either via online website or directly with Cuban embassy. Feel free to contact us if you need any help. A Student visa is required if you are planning also study in Cuba more then 30 days. As most of ours courses are with professional organisation and school we will organise this for you. Only downside is that it takes a bit longer and we will need you to book our holiday at least 3 month in advance.
What level are your dance courses?
We have 4 levels: Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and Advance. Contemporary and ballet classes are suitable for professionals and dance students.
Is there a supplement to be paid if I book a single room?
Most of our customers are Solo Travelers and most of are packages are calculated for 1 person. However we do offer 10% discount to people sharing 1 room.

How do I book a ¡Vamos*Cuba! holiday?
First contact us via our Enquiry form or leave us your number and we will call you backIf you are happy with the proposed itinerary, we will send you reservation form with our Terms & Conditions and we will require 15% deposit. This can be done either by bank transfer or by cheque.The outstanding balance must be paid off at least 30 days before your departure.
If I cannot find a flight, am I tied to my reservation?
You have 7 days following your booking confirmation in which you can cancel your reservation without any costs.
How do I pay for a ¡Vamos*Cuba! holiday?
The only option is by bank transfer into our account or by cheque. To guarantee your booking, we require an advance payment of 15% within the next 7 days of booking. The rest of the amount has to be paid no later than 1 month before the starting date of your departure.
Should I buy travel insurance before going on your holiday?
It’s legal requirement by Cuban government to have travel insurance before you entry the country.

Workshop: Popular Cuban and Folkloric Percussion
Content: An approach to Cuban music through small-group conversations and different auditions analyzing from its beginning until present day. The presentation of different Cuban percussion instruments and their methods of use. The reproduction, by the students, of different Cuban rhythmic cells, establishing various slapping or tapping polyrhythms. Body percussion. Improvisation. The course is adjusted according to the needs of the music students, amateurs or professionals.
Workshop: Afro-Cuban Percussion
Content: Afro-Cuban music of the Yoruba, Bantú and Arará origin, with all its richness, shown through the demonstration of its different variants. The presentation or dissimilar Afro-Cuban percussion instruments and their methods of use. The reproduction of different typical rhythmic cell, various polyrhythms and improvisation. Workshop: Percussion of the Cuban ‘Son’
Content: The presence of the Cuban ‘Son’, its universal relevance and its most authentic expressions of all time, which can be understood in the present through the practice of ‘Son’ percussive instruments. It will look at Cuban music and all its richness, with auditions and presentations from the different eras and the variants of ‘Son’ like Changui and Sucusucu, from their origins until present day, their methods of use and rhythmic cells. All of this and more will be within your reach in this course.
Workshop: The Repertoire of Cuban Songs
Content: The presence of song in Cuban music, its universal transcendence and the most authentic expressions of all time, which can be understood through practice with prestigious teachers of song. A dynamic approach to this vast repertoire of songs with auditions and presentation of their methods of execution and essential characteristics are within reach with this course
Children’s Choral Repertoire of Cuban Traditional Songs
Content: Cuban song within reach of the children, with the educative and cultural possibilities that choral song offers, their most authentic expressions and their positive psychological influence can be seen through practice with the most prestigious teachers of choral song. A dynamic approach to this vast repertoire of songs with games, auditions, presentations of execution methods and essential characteristics are within the children’s reach with this course.
Workshop: Cuban Folkloric Song
Content: The wealth of songs of Yoruba and Bantú origin, as well as others that combine in Cuban Folklore, its wide ranges of themes, records and rhythms, are shown through auditions and presentations. A dynamic approach to Cuba’s vast repertoire allows the discovery of methods of use and essential characteristics, with prestigious teachers of Cuban folkloric song.
Duration: From 1 week to 1 month with minimum length of 2 hours of classes a day. It can also be mixed with any of ours other courses.
