Job Title: Assistant to the Professor
Alejandro started dancing when he was 10 years old. That is 9 years of experience. He became interested in dance thanks to his older brother.
Q: How did you know you wanted to pursue dancing?
A: I loved to dance and I could see a future for myself.
Q: What training have you had?
A: At 10 years old, I trained with the Vocational School of Art in Santa Clara. When I was 15 I attended the ENA (Escuela Nacional del Arte). For the past two years, since age 17, I’ve been with DCC (Danza Contemporanea de Cuba).
Q: Was there a person who influenced your decision to become a dancer?
A: My brother.
Q: Why do you love dance?
A: Because I feel free when I dance.
Q: What do you think of Cuban dance today?
A: I am going to revolutionize the dance in Cuba and in the world ☺
Q: What projects do you have planned for the future?
A: To pass on my knowledge
Q: What has been your most memorable moment as a dance so far?
A: When I danced in the theatre in Moscow and my brother who lives in Barcelona was in the audience.
Q: What advice would you give travelers who are nervous about going on a dance holiday?
A: That in the dance it is important to learn to enjoy the dance.
