For our Cuba group tours, we ask you to pay part of the total price locally to your tour guide at the beginning of your tour in Cuba.
The local payment is not compulsory and you can pay the full amount of the tour by bank transfer if you prefer (remember 1USD = 1CUC) . Sometimes we have problems sending the large amount of money to Cuba to operate the tour due to the US embargo. Having the host collect a certain amount in cash, directly from the travellers at the start of the tour, acts as a safety blanket against possible delays or complications in the transferral of money to Cuba to run the tour. This help us run the tours smoothly and cost effectively.
